Ecology & Land Management (ELM) is an established ecological consultancy, founded in 1995, providing professional advice on ecological and land management issues across a wide range of landscapes and development types. We deliver high-quality, proportionate and cost-effective services through a collaborative approach, working with a trusted network of specialist ecologists and environmental professionals. This enables us to offer broad expertise while maintaining a responsive and personalised service for every client.
Our work is guided by a commitment to delivering projects that recognise and enhance ecosystem services. We place meaningful value on the environment by embedding green infrastructure into the design, delivery and long-term management of both new and existing sites. This includes integrating biodiversity into development masterplans and ensuring that land management strategies improve the condition, structure and resilience of landscapes and habitats.
We take a long-term, landscape-led approach that seeks to enhance biodiversity, conserve historic features and create opportunities for recreation, while strengthening local character and a sense of place. Our aim is to support sustainable development that balances ecological integrity with practical land use.
Responsibility to people, planet and profit is central to our work. We recognise the vital role that nature plays in supporting health and wellbeing and aim to promote meaningful connections between people and the natural environment. Wherever possible, we incorporate opportunities for wildlife enhancement within projects and provide robust management plans to secure the long-term conservation and improvement of habitats.
